This refreshing smoothie is designed to kick-start your day. Kiwi is packed with vitamin C and green tea is full of powerful antioxidants and has an uplifting effect on the body. A great way to start your day, or why not have it as a snack when you need a pick-up in the afternoon? Skip the chocolate bar and go for this healthy option instead.
Makes 4 cups (500 ml)
2 cups (500 ml) maché salad (also called lamb’s lettuce, valeriana, corn salad)
1 1/2 banana, frozen
1 cup pineapple (250 ml)
1 cup green tea, cold (250 ml)
Start by mixing the green tea with the maché salad until it becomes a green liquid. Then add the other ingredients and mix until smooth. The banana doesn’t have to be frozen but it makes the smoothie a bit cooler and that’s nice if you are drinking it straight away.
